We need help-
Who do you call when you need help?
-you call Dad
Galatians 4:6(NKJV)
6 And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, [b]“Abba, Father
-Our spirit joined with HIS SPIRIT cries out to the Father
We have been preaching about expectations- and since we are all Believers- we are Faith people- we have our 10 yr pins from tent meeting- we are in the Word- Confessors- we know Psalm 62:6- our expectations are from God. Because all these things are true we have Never suffered disappointment????
We need Help
when our theology of faith leads to disappointment
when we really thought our expectations were of the Lord-
when realty didn’t seem to match our faith
We need Help- We need the Helper
The Holy Spirit is our Helper
John 15:26(NKJV)
26 “But when the [c]Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.
John 16:13(NKJV)
13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.
We know we need help
We as Believers know God sent us the Helper and God is so willing to help
Psalm 46:1(NLT)
God is our refuge and strength,
always ready to help in times of trouble.
-just in time- when there is trouble
Isaiah 30:18(TPT)
“For this reason the Lord is still waiting to show his favor to you so he can show you his marvelous love. He waits to be gracious to you. He sits on his throne ready to show mercy to you. For Yahweh is the Lord of justice, faithful to keep his promises. Overwhelmed with bliss are all who will entwine their hearts in him, waiting for him to help them.”
God is ready always- are you ready to receive the help?
Ready- 2 conditions- your hearts entwined with him(soul) and waiting- waiting- waiting- for Him to help
-so many times as Christians as we are waiting for help we try to do spiritual things- we faith harder - we fast harder - we pray harder- we know God will help but bc we always introduce “time “ into the the equation it can sidetrack us from the Spirit’s leading
Psalm 62:5(NKJV)
My soul, wait silently for God alone,
For my [c]expectation is from Him.
As Christians we have expectations- we know God’s Word is true but as we apply our faith and our understanding of His Word it can lead us into frustrated acts of faith, coming from a place of faith without understanding the truth of the situation.
How do we level up as mature Christians as we deal with various trials and tribulations?
We need Help
We need His Word to walk our our Faith
John 8:31-32(NKJV)
31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.
32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
-abide to remain - its the souls choice with determination
The Spirit of Truth will lead us to the Truth we need to know in any situation- bc the Truth we know is what sets us free- truth doesn’t set us free- the Truth we know sets us free
John 8:31- abide in my Word to know the truth and the truth you know will set you free.
Helps comes from God- He is the Spirit- He is the Word
We need help to keep us from frustrated acts - especially as we deal with various trials and tribulations.
James 1:2-4(NKJV)
2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces [a]patience.
4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be [b]perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
Count it- command joy
Patience- not swerved from deliberate purpose-determined
Isaiah 50:7(NLT)
Because the Sovereign Lord helps me,
I will not be disgraced.
Therefore, I have set my face like a stone,
determined to do his will.
And I know that I will not be put to shame.
Disgraced - to fall our of favor
Put to shame- disappointed
We can understand this spiritual attack only by the Holy Spirit- we can allow the circumstance that God never intended, to push us down or be a springboard to shoot us up- its up to us.
2 Corinthians 12:7-10(TPT)
2 Corinthians 12:7
The extraordinary level of the revelations I’ve received is no reason for anyone to exalt me. For this is why a thorn in my flesh was given to me, the Adversary’s messenger sent to harass me, keeping me from becoming arrogant.
`
Three times I pleaded with the Lord to relieve me of this.
2 Corinthians 12:9
But he answered me, “My grace is always more than enough for you, and my power finds its full expression through your weakness.” So I will celebrate my weaknesses, for when I’m weak I sense more deeply the mighty power of Christ living in me.
2 Corinthians 12:10
So I’m not defeated by my weakness, but delighted! For when I feel my weakness and endure mistreatment—when I’m surrounded with troubles on every side and face persecution because of my love for Christ—I am made yet stronger. For my weakness becomes a portal to God’s power.
2 Cor 12:9(AMPC)
9 But He said to me, My grace (My favor and loving-kindness and mercy) is enough for you [sufficient against any danger and enables you to bear the trouble manfully]; for My strength and power are made perfect (fulfilled and completed) and [b]show themselves most effective in [your] weakness. Therefore, I will all the more gladly glory in my weaknesses and infirmities, that the strength and power of Christ (the Messiah) may rest (yes, may [c]pitch a tent over and dwell) upon me!
