Deut 31:6(NLT)
6 So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.”
-How do we walk fearlessly when we feel fear?
2 Tim 1:7(NLT)
7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.
2 Tim 1:6(NLT)
6 This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you.
2 Tim 1:6(AMPC)
6 That is why I would remind you to stir up (rekindle the embers of, fan the flame of, and keep burning) the [gracious] gift of God, [the inner fire] that is in you by means of the laying on of my hands [[c]with those of the elders at your ordination].
-We all are anointed and called
-We all have been given gifts to serve in the Kingdom
How do we stir up those gifts ?
How do we become fearless? How do we walk fearlessly?
The key to being fearless- to walking fearlessly in this world is rest.
Matthew 11:28-30(NLT)
28 Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”
Unrest is agitation- it’s being disturbed - it’s being afraid
Rest for your soul- is a mind free from fear and agitation
The spirit of fear brings on agitation - it makes one feel afraid.
Jesus gives us rest for our souls.
How do we enter into His rest?
Hebrews 4:3(NLT)
3 For only we who believe can enter his rest. As for the others, God said,
“In my anger I took an oath:
‘They will never enter my place of rest,’”[b]
even though this rest has been ready since he made the world.
Hebrews 4:3(TPT)
3. For those of us who believe, faith activates the promise and we experience the realm of confident rest! For he has said,
“I was grieved with them and made a solemn oath,
‘They will not enter into my rest.’ ”
God’s works have all been completed from the foundation of the world,
Hebrews 4:6(NLT)
6 So God’s rest is there for people to enter, but those who first heard this good news failed to enter because they disobeyed God.
Hebrews 4:6(TPT)
6. Those who first heard the good news of deliverance failed to enter into that realm of faith’s rest because of their unbelieving hearts. Yet the fact remains that we still have the opportunity to enter into the faith-rest life and experience the fulfillment of the promise!
2 things we must do to enter into that rest
1. Believe God
2. Obey God
Hebrews 4:11(NLT)
11 So let us do our best to enter that rest. But if we disobey God, as the people of Israel did, we will fall.
Hebrews 4:11(KJV)
11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
Hebrews 4:12(NLT)
12 For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.
Hebrews 4:11-12(TPT)
11. So then we must be eager to experience this faith-rest life, so that no one falls short by following the same pattern of doubt and unbelief.
12. For we have the living Word of God, which is full of energy, like a two-mouthed sword. It will even penetrate to the very core of our being where soul and spirit, bone and marrow meet! It interprets and reveals the true thoughts and secret motives of our hearts.
