Victim vs. VICTOR

There are some diseased mindsets in the church that need to be healed and eradicated. The disease of victim hood is rampant. We must walk out of the victim mindset and walk in to the inheritance of victor and victory that Jesus purchased for us and learn to think and act like the over-comers and Godly royalty that we are in Christ.

 

Who does God say that we are? 

 

1 Peter 2:9 ampc

9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a consecrated nation, a [special] people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies [the wonderful deeds and virtues and perfections] of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.

 

1 Pet. 2:5 ampc

5 You [believers], like living stones, are [a]being built up into a spiritual house for a holy and dedicated priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices [that are] acceptable and pleasing to God through Jesus Christ.

 

What are some victim thought processes that we tend to listen to…

‘I try so hard and bad things still happen to me, why?’

‘How can God let all these bad things happen?’

‘I just keep making mistakes and can’t break free, I’m no good’

‘I do all the right things and then bad people, or satan, come and wreck it all and there’s just no way out’

 

These may all be accurate statements…(but what do we do? WE SPEAK THE TRUTH OF GOD’S WORD TO THE FACTS, TILL THE FACTS LINE UP WITH THE WORD OF GOD!) This is where the blood of Jesus, the grace He died to give us and our choice to walk in His ways and obey Him or walk in our own ways and disobey Him come in to play. 

 

Deut. 30:19 nkjv

19 I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

First we recognize the broken thinking, then we seek the Holy Spirit to empower us to change and show us how to change, then we learn and speak the Word of God to change the very DNA of our thinking and acting, then we literally walk out the victory until we both feel and believe and act like  we are indeed the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.

 

 

2 Cor. 5:21 nkjv

21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

 

When we face the situations and issues of the world and life we must learn to think, talk, act and walk like royalty, like victors. We must methodically, deliberately change the way we respond to ‘life’, to the challenges that we face every day, to our own weaknesses. The only way to do that is to push in closer to our Father, tune in to Him, learn Him through His word and His Spirit and then APPLY and OBEY His directions. We MUST speak His Word and truth over ourselves until we BELIEVE it to be true and can walk in it confidently.

 

Jesus came as the Lamb Who takes away the sin of the world….

He is now the Lion of the tribe of Judah sitting at the right hand of God interceding for us.

 

As we walk in these end times, what attitude do we need to have to be the over-comers?

 

If Jesus is a Lion, are we not also called to walk as lions?

 

What are the attributes of a lion?

1. Protective

- of territory, themselves, their young, and of each other and of the truth of God’s Word.

2. Brave

-we choose to face both our own failings and fears as well as the enemy, adversary, the devil

3. Willing to fight

-it’s so much easier to stay quietly in the corner… but God tells us that even the gates of hell will not prevail against His church. We MUST be willing to fight for what God has given us, fight for our King, fight for His kingdom to be established in our lives and in our brothers and sisters lives and on this earth!

4. Aggressive 

• attack the enemy and give him NO ground, in our minds, in our lives or anywhere else
• God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind

5. Group members (part of a pride) 

-they fight both alone and with the group

1 will chase a 1,000 and 2 will chase 10,000. We always fight, alone or together, but there is exponential power when we fight together.

I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus!

I have the mind of Christ!

I am the victor in every area of my life because of Jesus and I receive His strength, His Power and His Authority to face EVERY sin, EVERY situation and EVERY attack of the enemy in my life!

I overcome ALL things by the blood of the Lamb and the word of my testimony!

I speak the TRUTH of God’s word to every situation I come up against and I am victorious!

We are a chosen people and we are a royal priesthood in Jesus, we belong to God and we walk in victory!
