Acts 2:36-38(NKJV)
36 “Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.”
37 Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?”

to pain the mind sharply
38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the [k]remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Repent
metanoeō—- met ah nah ayo
to change one's mind
39 For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”
-The people had to become aware of the truth. They had to truly hear.
-The truth should cause pain when you have been believing a lie.
-What do we do with this truth?
Peter was asking them to do 3 things:
1. Repent- change your mind- you soul man has to change. The way we think has to change, which will change our will which will change our emotions.
2. Be baptized- Obey the Lord- He asked everyone to be baptized as a public display of the change that occurred within them.
3. Receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
