Memorial Day Weekend

On Memorial Day we honor those men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military and also those serving today and that have served.

Malachi 3:16-18(NKJV)

16

Then those who feared the Lord spoke to one another,

And the Lord listened and heard them;

So a book of remembrance was written before Him

For those who fear the Lord

And who [e]meditate on His name.

17

“They shall be Mine,” says the Lord of hosts,

“On the day that I make them My jewels.[f]

And I will spare them

As a man spares his own son who serves him.”

18

Then you shall again discern

Between the righteous and the wicked,

Between one who serves God

And one who does not serve Him.

Malachi 3:16-18(NLT)

16 Then those who feared the Lord spoke with each other, and the Lord listened to what they said. In his presence, a scroll of remembrance was written to record the names of those who feared him and always thought about the honor of his name.

17 “They will be my people,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. “On the day when I act in judgment, they will be my own special treasure. I will spare them as a father spares an obedient child. 18 Then you will again see the difference between the righteous and the wicked, between those who serve God and those who do not.”

1 Thes 5:9(NKJV)

For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,

We are in the Church AGE-

That began at Christ’s death, resurrection and ascension.

It will end at the rapture of the Church.

We are not appointed to wrath.

We are His people, called by His name, there is a book in heaven written about you and the thoughts you are having that honor Him.

John 14:15- He who loves Me will obey

Joshua 24:14-15(AMP)

14 Now therefore, [reverently] fear the Lord and serve Him in sincerity and in truth; put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the [Euphrates] River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord.

15 And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

We are at a river crossing moment- our thoughts must honor Him and our attention must be on Him to direct us as we go to the other side of this time and season.

1 Thessalonians 5 The Passion Translation (TPT)

God’s Times and Seasons

Now, beloved brothers and sisters, concerning the question of God’s precise times and specific seasons,[a] you don’t need me to write anything to you. For you already know quite well that the day of the Lord[b] will come unexpectedly and as a complete surprise.[c] For while some are saying, “Finally we have peace and security,” sudden destruction will arrive at their doorstep, like labor pains seizing a pregnant woman—and with no chance of escape!

But you, beloved brothers and sisters, are not living in the dark, allowing that day to creep up on you like a thief coming to steal. For you are all children of the light and children of the day. We don’t belong to the night nor to darkness. This is why we must not fall asleep, as the rest do, but keep wide awake and clearheaded. For those who are asleep sleep the night away, and drunkards get drunk at night.[d] But since we belong to the day, we must stay alert and clearheaded by placing the breastplate of faith and love over our hearts, and a helmet of the hope of salvation over our thoughts.[e] For God has not destined us to experience wrath but to possess salvation through our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One. 10 He gave his life for us so that we may share in resurrection life[f] in union with him—whether we’re awake or asleep. 11 Because of this, encourage the hearts of your fellow believers and support one another, just as you have already been doing.
