Samurai Warrior
Have you ever had a stellar argument with someone in your head and been truly witty and stinging, brilliantly intelligent and quick, winning the argument in just a few succinctly placed sentences?! Only to have the real argument with said person and fall flat on your face after having inserted your foot directly into your mouth?
This is often how I feel about my walk as a Christian. In my mind I am a spiritual samurai warrior. Meeting every attack of the enemy with beautiful, aggressive, fluid movements... vanquishing his every onslaught almost instantly and looking good while doing it. Then the attack comes and I am a blubbering mess, wondering what I did wrong to be encountering such an ugly attack and how can God love such a pathetic excuse for a child and I might as well just go eat worms.
Any one out there relate to that scenario? I am especially brave after being at church or after reading the Word. But then I have to take that juiced up attitude out into the reality of an ugly, messy world that doesn’t follow the ‘rules’. And to add insult to injury, I am still dealing with myself in my not quite perfected state! DEEP SIGH.
Psalm 103:13-14
Just as a father has compassion on his children, So the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him.
14For He Himself knows our frame; He is mindful that we are but dust.
I LOVE this passage of scripture!!! He’s not looking for perfect. He knows us, He knows we are made from dust, He LOVES us and when we choose Him and join our dusty little, natural selves with Him?! There is NO limit to what He can do through us!!!
Philipians 4:12-13 (tpt)
I know what it means to lack,[a] and I know what it means to experience overwhelming abundance. For I’m trained in the secret of overcoming all things, whether in fullness or in hunger. And I find that the strength of Christ’s explosive power infuses me to conquer every difficulty.[b]
God is looking for a willing people, not a perfect people. We believe Him, we seek Him, we obey Him, we speak His word.... mountains MOVE.
Read your Scripture confessions OUT LOUD, praise God OUT LOUD, send someone an encouraging text or note AND STOMP THE ENEMY WITH YOUR LOVE!!!
